Who talks about TV shows around the watercooler? The watercooler has moved online…and people discuss user videos.
9 01 2007
In the old days people would gather around the watercooler and talk about the latest episode of Sienfeld or 90210 or some other popular TV program and discuss the show. Well we are now living in a splintered world where mega hits like the ones mentioned are not nearly as important and people consume video online and the latest form of entertainment is user generated media in the form of video. YouTube, Myspace, Yahoo Video, Google video… this is where the content gets distributed from… but there is no watercooler megahit to discuss online and the people you want to discuss it with might not work with you… this is a problem.
So we thought that we would build a community where you could actually get to know like minded video viewers on virtually unlimited subjects and watch videos that are of interest to you…built by you… and shared by you…
We have been programming like crazy to get this service live very soon…Building a community that the users own is no easy task. You really need to give the tools to the users and let them make it their own. Let them have ownership and input to how the site works and what they like and want. Could a community around playlists and videos exist? Would users want to see and connect with other viewers of the same video…??? We think so… Share your thoughts with us… and help us build the best community possible.
